A peaceful little retreat for two in the Esk Valley
Athelas is a peaceful, self-contained cottage for two, tucked away in the grounds of Laneside and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the North York Moors.
With its own private entrance, king-size bed, fully equipped kitchen, log burner and little patio overlooking the garden and valley, it’s a lovely place to slow down and enjoy a few days away.
Come back from a day exploring the moors and coast, put your feet up, light the fire and settle in. There’s nowhere you need to be.
The fully fitted kitchen has everything you need for a proper self-catering stay, with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and coffee machine, along with plenty of cookware, crockery and all the essentials. The breakfast bar is a lovely spot for a leisurely breakfast, coffee or a glass of wine while looking out towards the garden.
At the end of the day, settle into the comfortable king-size bed or curl up on the sofa by the fire. There’s a 43-inch Smart TV with Netflix and a dedicated guest profile for lazy evenings in, while artwork and little touches of colour give Athelas its own character. Egyptian cotton bath sheets and hand towels are provided, along with complimentary toiletries.
Outside, you have your own little patio — perfect for a morning coffee, an evening drink or simply sitting and listening to the birds and taking in the view.
